Website Traffic

How do you increase traffic to your website?

The most important thing is to make sure that your website URL is correctly linked to every platform that you use. A simple typo will cause that link to fail. Copy and paste when possible.

Do you have a newsletter that you send out? Include a link to your website. If one of your subscribers forwards it to a friend or shares it online, you want those new people who see it to have an easy way to find you and potentially subscribe. An author can always add “If this was forwarded to you and you wish to subscribe, click here.”

Social media platforms? Add your website link to your bio. You can shorten your URL easily if you have a long one or use a link tree to provide several pages for folks to click on if you use several platforms. You can direct them to your sign-up page, your blog, your Goodreads author page, and other social media platforms.

Make it as easy as possible for people to get to your website and to navigate your website. Have clearly laid out tabs at the top of your website. There are plenty of poorly designed sites out there, don’t let yours be one of them. If you are struggling, check out other like-genre author’s websites for ideas.

Any traffic is good traffic. Make sure that you are taking advantage of every opportunity to clearly link your website. Even adding “Click the link in my bio!” to your posts can help drive more traffic to your website. Dial it up!
