Fall Fiasco: Planning Ahead

 

 

What do you have planned for the Fall season, author? Nothing? Goodness, I hope not.

 

There are only a few months left until the end of the year. Yes, I know. It sure flew by.

 

This is a big planning time that you should take full advantage of. Have you started thinking about holiday marketing? Your next release?

 

What is your game plan? Take some time to plan out your next few months. What do you want to accomplish? What do you need to accomplish? And what would you ideally like to have time to accomplish?

 

Avoid a fiasco this fall by having a game plan in place. Figure out your priorities: the must-haves, the needs, and the wants. Then kick that into high gear. As the days get shorter, so do your opportunities to take advantage before the holiday seasons are upon us.

 

Break things down into each month. Back to school markets? Halloween goals? Thanksgiving plans? What is your marketing deadline for holiday sales in December? What is the latest those ads need to be scheduled? Plan it out. Start proofing your content now. This will save you from potential headaches and free up your time if you start planning now.

 

I know it all seems so early but think about last year. Did you have enough time to plan everything you wanted? Did you hit the metrics you wanted to hit? What about sales?
