Spring has sprung and that means it's time to air out your social media accounts, your website, and maybe some pillows around the house.
Take a good look at your social media accounts, author. What has been your most successful post? What got the most views? What post created more followers? Which one caused the most unfollows? What was totally passed over and ignored? Make a list for each account you have.
Now it’s time to clean up. That post that only got a single like? Don’t replicate it. Your video that got a few thousand views? Pin it to the top of your profile. Cleaning up your accounts is important for your new followers who like to scroll through accounts before they hit that follow button.
Curate your profile. Pin your most important updates and most engaged with posts at the top but be selective. Keep the momentum going. Whatever you did right on those posts, keep it up.
Don’t neglect your website, your blog, and your newsletter. Did you share a blog post that you really don’t like anymore? Rewrite it. Do you have the most up to date information on your website? Double check. Do you have a headshot from a decade ago? Update it. Does your newsletter look like it’s from the 90s? Refresh it.
Spring cleaning is important to do as a brief rest stop through your journey this year, author. As we slowly figure ourselves out again each year, a refresh during the spring is a great way to check in with yourself and your brand, and to redefine your goals.
Don’t put off your spring cleaning for too long. Those digital dust bunnies build up quickly, and before you know it, you’ll have an entire house (or website) to clean up, rather than just a room or two.
